Who is Local 2513?

AFGE Local #2513 was chartered in 1966. Our Local Union represents all bargaining unit employees, who work for the U.S. Department of Labor in New York and New Jersey.  We are one of 20 Locals who are part of Council 73 – the National Council of Field Labor Locals (NCFLL).   The NCFLL is the exclusive representative for all DOL employees who work outside of Washington, DC.  As a member of Local #2513 you are also a part of our parent organization; the American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE).  We are also affiliated with the AFL-CIO both in your State of residence, and nationally.

Local #2513 has an elected Executive Board consisting of 11 members.  We also have a cadre of shop stewards.  Their names and contact information can be found on this website.

What does Local 2513 do?

It's hard to put in a few sentences all that the Union does.  However, our key focus is on maintaining the rights of those we represent as defined in our collective bargaining agreement (CBA). For more information click here.

What has the Union done for me lately?

Sometimes ‘lately’ is a relative term.  Case in point, back wages being paid to OSHA employees who worked at the World Trade Center (WTC) site following the 9/11 attacks. Click here to read more.
